Mike Pinkney lives in Auckland with Anne, his partner of more than 35 years. He is very parochial about Auckland in particular and New Zealand in general. He can’t understand why anyone who has a choice would live anywhere else other than New Zealand, or possibly Australia.
His “children” Mark (living in the Caribbean) and Michaela (living in Australia) both have their own families including each giving Mike two amazing, gorgeous grandchildren, 2 in 2013 and 2 in 2015. Mike spends time with them whenever he can.
As is normal in information pages of this type, his experiences are listed below.
There are two lists, one to make him look smart and clever, the other makes him look crazy. You can decide which is which!

Started World Hunger Year (WHY) and was the inspiration behind “We Are The World”
The quote on his tombstone is from one of his songs with a message.

Harry proved that one man’s life, his, could make a massive difference.

R Buckminster Fuller (Bucky) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buckminster_Fuller
There simply are not enough words to explain what this wonderful man meant to the world. His friend John Denver wrote the brilliant song “What One Man Can Do” about and for Bucky. It haunts, motivates and inspires me. Especially:
Its hard to tell the truth
When no one wants to listen
When no one really cares
What’s going on
And its hard to stand alone
When you need someone beside you
Your spirit and your faith
They must be strong
What one man can do is dream
What one man can do is love
What one man can do is change the world
And make it young again
Here you see what one man can do
Bucky did change the world, in so many ways, all for the better.
